This is a logo for the band 'bullet for my valentine'. It is heavily influenced by art nouveau. the vines, flowers, and smooth flowing lines are all from the art nouveau style. It blends the picture with the type to produce a strong image. The colour scheme is analogous, using dark reds and purples. I first saw it a few years ago when i first heard of the band (2005). I think that the thing that i like most about the design is the curved, sharp letter and vines. It also managed to look almost symmetrical even though isn't. But the thing that original attracted me to it was the band.

these are the packaging for some sort of Asian matches. and I'm not to sure if they really exist, or if its just a joke. i found this while looking for interesting packaging. the packaging looks like it is aimed towards children, because of the colours, simple cartoons and the match heads have little faces on them. it also uses humor to draw in peoples attention. if these are real, then they probably would have been baned from being sold, because of the packaging, even though it doesn't have anything offensive, and looks very innocent. i think that it works very well... unless you get sued and become bankrupt for advertising matches to children.

this is a log for the band 'avenged sevenfold'. its is designed so that whenever people see this symbol it makes them think of the band, and promots it. it is eay to identify because of the destinctive skull with wings (it doesnt always have text). i first saw the logo on a album cover, which really grabs your attention. the art work is high quality and well drawn. the logo also gives you a indication as to which type of music it is (rock).

this is a advert for the bmw m5. it is designed mainly to make people buy the car because it seems powerful, and does this by using humour. the design is very simple and doesnt use very much type. it roughly uses the rule of thirds to draw your attention to the dog. the main thing that attracted me to it, was the humour of the ad. i think this works very well, and it really over-dramatises the power of the car.
